When My Cholesterol prescription was finished, I didn't make any effort to get it renewed. I simply went to the doctor when my next annual health check became due. He asked me to do some blood tests and return to him in 3 weeks or so for the results.
When I returned to his office today, he started going through the list of results.
Glucose level - perfect
Vitamin levels - perfect
and so on. I don't remember all that he read out but the assessment was all perfect.
when he came to Cholesterol, he paused. I saw a look of surprise on his face. I started to panic expecting to hear the bad news. He then read out the cholesterol figure (4.6) and said "Your cholesterol is normal. Your good cholesterol is up and your bad cholesterol is halved."
I was smiling for nearly 2 hours after that. (I am smiling now.)
I have achieved this by changing my diet and life style.
Breakfast - Fruit and vegetable smoothie.
One blender full of in season fruits and filtered water
Another blender filled with a blend of fresh ginger, stevia, celery, vegetables (mostly dark green) and filtered water
Lunch - Rolled Oats (Strictly speaking, not raw but super healthy,) dried fruits and nuts in home made almond milk sweetened with stevia.
Dinner - Vegetable and tomato salad.
For this I have 1/2 of a large tomato, fill the plate with a mix of vegetables (again, mostly dark green) and dress with Liquid Aminos (Bragg's All purpose seasoning). I occasionally use other dressing.
Snack - Fruits, nuts, berries, raisins etc..
These combinations are quick and easy to put together on a daily basis.
Most of what I eat is raw, but I do have a bowl of 3 minute noodles daily simply because I love them. Occasionally, I eat other stuff like at an office party or dinner.
For exercise, I do 4 sets of 10 push-ups, 2 sets of 30 sit-ups and cycle for a minimum distance of 12Km and a minimum time of 30mins at least 6 days per week. (Most weeks I do this seven days)
I no longer drink coffee or any other caffeinated beverage.
Other benefits I have noticed are:
Clearer thought process
No further need for antacid. I used to use these regularly
No further need for Imodium (medication for treating running belly/loose bowels) I needed these fairly regularly as well.
I am more energetic
I lost 5Kg/10lbs roughly
That's my story. I just felt compelled to tell it.
